Provenance |
Thomas U. Walter received training from the landscape artist, William Mason. This view of Christ Church shows the Walter renovations and was done by Mason for William H. Wayne. The Vestry minutes of April 15, 1940, record: "The Secretary was further instructed to write a letter to Dr. Chance thanking him for three books and a picture which he had presented to the parish." A letter in the file indicates that it was initially the property of A. Wayne Robinson. William H. Wayne, possibly an ancestor of A. Wayne Robinson, served on the Vestry of Christ Church in 1838. |
