Description |
Sterling silver baptismal bowl marked PS in square four times on rim . Engraved around the rim: "The gift of Coll Robart (sic) Quary to Christ Church in Philadelphia the 29th 8br 1712". Engraved on the underside of bowl, "OZ. (?) WT/63=2. Old repair 1 1/4 x 1 1/2". ". This bowl was made to fit into the English baptismal font brought from England in 1697. |

This bowl was made to fit into the English baptismal font brought from England in 1697. It was purchased with funds left to the Church through the bequest of Colonel Robert Quary. It has been used continuously for baptisms by Christ Church through the centuries. |
