Scope & Content |
In 1981, Christ Church artifacts were featured in the Loan Show of the annual Philadelphia Antiques Show at the Armory. The effort was led by Julia Liezenring, a dedicated member of the parish and board of trustees. In addition to the physical exhibit, the Loan Show also produced a exhibit catalog, which contained three articles about the history of Christ Church by Bruce Gill, a historian and member of the church's vestry; Charles Peterson, an architectural historian; and Francis James Dallett. The Antique Show files contain all planning records for the exhibit. In particular, there is correspondence with museum curators regarding loans to the exhibit as well as research files for the exhibit and catalog. The files are arranged in one alphabetical run by corresponding institution, person, subject or record type. There is a scrapbook containing annotated excerpts from the catalog and photographs taken during the Antiques Show, which was assembled by Julia Liezenring. There are also 16 copies of the catalog. |
